Our initial focus is to engage key leaders in Canadian and other global cities to listen deeply and reflect on the state of the Church in major cities, emerging global trends, and issues impacting the new generation. Our research includes opportunities in digital platforms, data analytics, and transmedia storytelling. The goal is to determine a collaborative strategy that will be effective in cities.

Research indicates that young adults in cities are disengaging from the church in large numbers unlike any other time in history. As a part of our research, we facilitated a 12-week Think Tank with 30 key millennial leaders from across Canada to gain their insights on how best to respond to this challenge.

Tim Day

Tim combines a passion for leadership, strategy and innovation with a rich understanding of the Biblical narrative and its principles of transformation and growth. Previously, Tim served for fourteen years as the senior pastor at The Meeting House, a multi-site church that grew from a few hundred people to over 5000 people in cities across Ontario. He is also the author of God Enters Stage Left, a creative retelling of God’s story.

Sandra Nicholas

Sandra possesses unique strengths in developing effective teams and efficient systems to accomplish significant goals. Over the past twelve years, she helped develop The Meeting House’s multi-site strategy that led to a single church growing to 16 locations. She has led large support teams and communications teams. She consults regularly in the areas of multi-site design, staff management, and administrative systems.

Sarah Stanley

Sarah has extensive experience in mobilizing leaders to engage new generations. She is a writer and speaker and is a key voice at a national level. She has led large youth ministries as well as served in key leadership roles in ministries that resource churches. She is working with City Movement to help facilitate our Millennial Think Tank with key leaders from across Canada.

Cathy Fraser

Cathy supports the City Movement team as our executive administrator. She brings 20 years of experience working with senior executives and leadership teams. She provides communications, administrative, and organizational support for the City Movement team.
